Thanksgiving 2008 - Tiff's TOP 10 List

TIFF's TOP TEN THANKSGIVING 2008 EVENTS:
Pictures are included. No particular order.

1. Beth's house was a perfect place to be on Thanksgiving. She was so great to have everyone over. She made a great meal - but my favorite had to be the little "kid" pies.

2. Jake and Will singing 80's songs. Especially Jake and his intense facial expressions. Jake you did ROCK it!

3. The bathroom flooded and the kids thought we should call 9-1-1. (sorry no pics)
4. Sliding down the stairs using pillows and sleeping bags.

5. Bailey and Brooklyn have such great lives they switched clothes, put on make-up, and sang to high school musical. Wow to be 5 again!

6. Trying to make Will be serious for a picture together. He is cute, huh? Even when being silly.

7. Being with Jake and Kat all day on Thanksgiving. It was so fun and next year - Boston right?
8. Going to a movie. AUSTRALIA was awesome!
9. Being with family. Smiling with family. Being with Will.
PS: This is the first picture I have EVER gotten on Brandon where he was looking at me!
I was so excited! He is so cute.

10. Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was my 27th year of watching the parade. Yup I have not missed one.

Thanksgiving 2008 was great and now I just have to wait for 4 weeks until Christmas!

Thankful for 2008

I hope that everyone had a WONDERFUL Day and ate a lot. Will and I spent the day in Lehi, UT at Will's sisters house. Beth made a beautiful dinner and the turkey was awesome. It was fun to play rock band and sing 80's songs in the basement between eating and catching up. I promise to post more pictures of the day soon.
Then Will and I went to see Australia with Jake and Kat. It is one of those movies that will stick with me for a while. It was brilliant and the acting was awesome. I thought I used to want to go to Italy, but Australia seems to be now in my top 3 places to visit.

I am so thankful for Will and my family this year. The last 6 months have been the best and I look forward to so many more!

Just a few thoughts

This past week and weekend has been one of excitement, sickness, disappointment and memories. Each part of the week holds a special or not so special place in my heart!

Excitement:
1. BOLT was AWESOME! It is such a great family movie. I would recommend it to anyone. I laughed and to be honest I also cried at the end. Rhino the hamster ROCKS - I want one!

2. Next week is Thanksgiving break. I am so excited to sleep in past 5:30am, spend time with Will, get caught up on school work, spend time with Will's family and just relax.
3. I can start listening to Christmas Music all the time! YIPPIE!

Sickness:
Will has been really sick since Tuesday night. It has been awful. I just want him to be better for this upcoming week. But I have had fun taking care of him!

Disappointment:
BYU lost. Enough said.

Memories:
Will and I have been married for almost 6 months now. But...
Friday night was the year anniversary of our first date. Will took me to Comedy Sports and then to Pudding on the Rice for our first date. It was fun. That night I stayed up with my room mate PJ until 3am talking about Will, how easy it was to talk to him, and how much fun I had. Well...it is a year later...married and super happy. I love him more each day!
And Pudding on the Rice is one of our favorite places to get dessert!

Just some pictures I love!

We are cute, huh?

Called to Serve - even at your Elementary School

I have a group of the cutest boys in my class. I mean all of my student's this year are adorable, when they don't chat to much, but specifically there are a group of boys who are a part of a very special "Friendship Group."
The boys thought of a great service project, they re-painted the United States Map on the blacktop in the back of the school. They had a great time. Will of course helped. He had a blast and so did the kids. They painted, had paint wars, played tag, talked about what girls they liked and don't like, and loved the whole afternoon. I of course took the pictures and smiled the whole afternoon!

Thank you Will for taking the time to help out my adorable boys, I am so lucky to have you!

The White House Dog

I am a sucker for cute stories, especially about kids and this story in PEOPLE magazine about the New Dog in the white house made me smile. No matter who you voted for, or what you believe, you must agree that Barack Obama's children are adorable and deserve a puppy! They are going to have to endure a lot of press, a lot of time without their father, and also a new house to grow up in - I am glad they are getting the dog that they were promised!

Children are amazing!
Children make life worth living.
Children make me smile each day!

What Kind of Dog Should Malia & Sasha Get?
Not since Knut, the polar bear, has an animal so captured the public's imagination – and this one hasn't even been found yet.
Speaking before the world at his victory rally in Chicago on Tuesday night, President-elect Barack Obama told daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7: "I love you more than you can imagine, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House."

Presidential Dogs
When the four-legged addition to the Obama family moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., he or she will be joining a long roster of First Pets dating back to George Washington's administration. (The Father of Our Country, in fact, owned several dogs.)

Currently, Scottish terriers Barney and Miss Beazley Bush occupy the manse, and, before them, Bill Clinton's chocolate Lab Buddy. George HW Bush shared the halls with Millie, a Springer spaniel (and the only First Pet to pen a book) and one of Millie's puppies, ranger.

In terms of young children and their companions in executive mansion, Amy Carter (who was 9 when she moved in with her parents in 1977) made room for her cat, Misty Malarky Ying Yang, while from 1961-63 the Kennedy menagerie included cats, dogs, a canary, rabbit and Caroline Kennedy's pony, Macaroni.

Halloween 2008

IT'S HALLOWEEN
It's Halloween! It's Halloween!

The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.

Halloween was so fun this year! Not only did Will and I go as an AWESOME 80's couple, eat lots of Candy, and see a ton of really cute costumes, but best of all we had a blast scaring my class and the rest of the 6th graders while on the tour of terror at Canyon Crest!

At the end of the Day Will and I were so tired. Will was I believe more tired than I was! He is such an amazing husband who treated the 6th graders to the best Halloween they have ever had. And to the best Halloween I have ever had also!

The Story: Canyon Crest was built 25 years ago. The first year it was open there was a custodian who was really mean and who hated the students. He would lock them down in the "basement" or in the "boiler" room and leave them there. And that part is the truth! So of course this man was fired and never worked at Canyon Crest again... But doesn't that make the best story ever! And a story which you can exaggerate and make into a creepy Halloween story! So Ford White, our AMAZING vice principal, took our 6th graders on a "tour of terror" that would go on to tell the students that the custodian murdered students in the basement of the school. The custodian's name was "Mr. Riser" and so Ford took the students down to the "RISER" room or what we know today as the boiler room. I don't know if you have ever been into a BOILER room but it is so creepy! The kids were freaked out! It was awesome, especially when Will popped out of the dark shadows in a cloak. It was a fright those kids are never going to forget!

Here are some of the pictures from the day.
Halloween 2008 was one I will never forget!

This is one of the best pictures, it is our crazy librarian, music teacher and Mr. White signing "Halloween Carols" for all the classes. The went "spooky-caroling."
Here is the video of the singing, it rocks:

The costumes this year were awesome!
Musical chairs is still fun - especially to thriller...
HSM 3 or a bananna?
My McKay kids are so cute!
My boys, and yes they pulled the woopie costume off great!
Who killed her? This costume was just amazing!
Grandma?
The best twin costume!
Will and I ROCKED the 80's!
Vote Sarah Palin - or Rachel Martinez for VP?
Cami Roberts! What a sexy silver suit!
Jennifer Heldenbrant is the other 6th grade teacher. She went as a 2nd grader!

It is Halloween! It is Halloween!
